Bay Adventures

 Hey Everyone!

A few days ago, me and my best friend Jodie went to Cardiff Bay. The weather was great and we also got to film a video for our YouTube channel while we were there. Before I go any further, please feel free to take a look at our video, as we managed to get some beautiful shots of the bay while having a laugh too.

Cardiff Bay is beginning to develop rapidly and is a great place to have fun and also go for a meal! Such good food there (I would definitely recommend 'The Oyster Catcher' -Their burgers are delicious!)
While me and Jodie were at the Bay, we decided to go to a food festival with my Auntie Lisa and my other cousin, Daniel and our friends, Sophie and Matt. We got to try out loads of free samples including a lovely cherry liquor. So good! We also had a lovely sheeps milk ice cream, and I ordered Mint chocolate chip, my personal favourite.

As I am a Film and Photography student, I also really wanted to get some pictures of the bay, and this is was the outcome:
Me and Jodie were also tempted to go on a speed boat, which was only £7.00 per person for about 15 minutes. I found that to be quite reasonable compared to some of the prices down at Cardiff Bay, but we didn't end up going on one, but we still had loads of fun, especially down at the barrage. We got to watch and envy people with gorgeous yachts! I also managed to get this lovely snap of Jodie and this very attractive shot of Daniel...

All in all, we had a great day down at Cardiff Bay, even though it was the morning after me and Jodie went for a night out! We didn't get in until half four in the morning, so I think we deserve a round of applause for getting up early and having a little adventure!
Bye! xx

Hot Weather

Hello Everyone!

For the past two or three weeks, the whole of Britain has been enjoying the surprisingly hot weather. This is such a rarity here and no one is wasting time to catch a tan.
Don't get me wrong, I love summer, but I would prefer winter as I never feel gross in the cold weather. I can wrap up warm and if I do get a bit hot, I can always unwrap and cool off. Whereas during the Summer, if I get too hot, I can't exactly strip off and get cool! Too uncomfortable for my liking.
I'm also not too confident with my body, so I prefer to hide underneath all of the layers that I can wrap up in during the Winter months. But this year, I've been brave and I've wore summery clothes for once!

As it's now the Summer holidays for the kids, I decided to take my little sisters and their friends to a park which has a cool little water area for you to cool off in. We had a great day and best of all, it's free!

My little sister, Leah, loved playing in the 'Splash Pads'. I also love her little Ed Hardy swimming costume.

We also sat down and had a bit of a picnic. I attempted to do the Cup Song (yes, I know, annoying). But while I was doing it, I somehow managed to get into this mess:

Me and my other little sister, Kayleigh, also had a nice time together, which is also as rare as this hot weather as we argue quite a bit...It's our job as sisters... But I still love her!

All in all, I had a great time in the sun, and I would highly recommend just going to your local park for a nice day out this summer. Its free and fun and you can also catch a nice tan while you're at it!
Bye! xx

Best Friend

Hey everyone!

So, I was looking through a bunch of old photos and videos of me and my best friend, Jodie and I just thought about all of the funny and special memories that we have shared. I then started to look through all of our recent pictures and I just smiled at all of our crazy experiences that we have been through!
Jodie is my best friend who I have known since I was born as she is also my cousin. We have been through so much together, including bad things and incredibly amazing things!
The relationship that I have with Jodie is one of those where you will just laugh if they fall over before you start to help them up! Yes, of course I care about her, but I need to laugh at her first!
I thought I would write a post about her because she has done so much for me and I really appreciate it all.

I thought I would start from the beginning....
Me and Jodie with our Grandad aka 'Bampie'. Looking good in those matching outfits!

Me and Jodie in 1999 on Christmas Day. This is taken from a home video where we both sing a bit of 'Hit me baby one more time' by Britney Spears!

This was back in 2007 when me and Jodie never wore make up and apparently loved scarves....

Here, me and Jodie started to wear makeup, but we were in our over the top posing/ duck face pouting stage. I believe this was taken in 2009.
This was taken in 2010. Me and Jodie started to dye our hair quite regularly. As you can tell, I am no longer blonde in this one!

Me and Jodie in 2011 shortly after our Grandad died. We both decided to have a sleepover together to cheer up. As you can see, Jodie turned into a red head!
And now for the present day. We're both 18 and having fun before we go to university. I love her to bits and I wouldn't change anything from the last 18 years that we've spent together.
We also both have a YouTube channel and we do Vlogs and just funny videos for your entertainment. Please feel free to have a look at our channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/ItsaJRthing.

I love my best friend!

A Day of Baking

 Hello Everyone!
Today, I decided to do a bit of baking.
Baking is something that I actually love to do and even if I mess up a recipe, it's still fun to try and experiment.
When I woke up this morning, I thought that I would pay my Grandmother a visit and I must take after her as she loves to bake too! Recently, I've been going through some, let's just say 'stressful' situations, so me and my Nan decided to bake to get my mind off things.
First of all, my nan and I started to look through all of her cookery and baking books to find the perfect recipe for either a Rich fruit cake, or a Mince Pie. We ended up finding three books that all had recipes for Fruit cakes and Mince pies, but we just couldn't decide what recipe to use.
Two of the three books were actually my nans from the 50's, while one book was filled with more modern recipes. We really didn't know what recipe to choose, so we ended up incorporating all three recipes into the cake and mince pie.
My Nan has recently bought one of those free standing mixers, but she was quite scared to use it as she said, and I quote "I'm just not up to date with all of this techno sh*t". Good old Nan! Luckily, I quickly got the hang of it, and I taught my nan how to use it. Now she can't be scared to actually give it a go.
It has different attachments, which is really handy depending on what kind of batter you want to mix, which my nan was very impressed with! Maybe she can give the "techno" side of baking a chance!
We eventually baked our Fruit cake, and used loads of different ingredients, such as cherries, almonds, walnuts, dates and raisins.

Then, we got onto baking our Mince Pie. Even though it isn't Christmas, my nan still fancied a Mince pie. Why not?
And then, after all of the flour and sugar mess, we ended up with this!

Fruit Cake (Above) and Mince Pie.
It was a very eventful afternoon to say the least. And after a huge flour incident and a good laugh, we decided to cut the pie and cake and dig in!

Woo!! xx

A New Arrival!

 Hello Everyone!

This is my second post and I feel quite nervous about it for some reason. Oh well, it's about something good and exciting anyway!
I thought I would talk about what happened three weeks ago. I know that was a while back, but I can't help that I'm still so excited!
The reason for my excitement is that on June 26th 2013, my beautiful little nephew was welcomed into the world. I am now an auntie to gorgeous baby Jenson. Don't you just love his name? So macho!
My brother, Marc and his wife, Alice are both incredibly proud parents and I am one incredibly proud auntie. Mum and baby are doing fine and I can't believe how fast my nephew has grown in just three weeks.
I have already spoiled Jenson rotten as I've bought some cute outfits for him to wear and I've also bought him this cute customized blanket, which has his name and date of birth sewn into it.
It's too cute for words!

I think I better start ending this post as I could quite literally be here for hours just writing about how excited I am on the arrival of my handsome nephew! I can't wait for more cuddles with him!
Bye!! xx

An Introduction

Hello Everyone!
This is my first ever Blog post, so I just wanted to give you all a brief introduction to myself and this blog!

My name is Rebekah, I am 18 years old and I am a Film and Photography student.
I am from a teeny tiny country called Wales. If some of you are unaware of where Wales is, it is in the UK. It's only a small country compared to the rest of Britain, but I like it here.

I enjoy taking pictures of practically anything that catches my eye, and I can't wait to get a degree in Film and Photography!

This Blog will probably consist of my pictures that I have taken for my University portfolio and I will also be posting about many random subjects along with any general day to day things.

I hope you all enjoy my future posts. I'm sure they will be a lot better than this first one!

Bye! xxx
